The first cut.

As of Thursday 12/14, I am building guitars again. I am going to make 4 electrics, and video blog my progress. At this time I don't have a video program to edit things nicely, but I will post some clips soon. Right now i have a couple pictures of the wood i am starting off with. I will need to order some fingerboard wood, and some more Walnut for the bodies. In the picture shown, you can see a peice of curly maple that i will use for the body caps, and a peice of walnut that i will cut 4 solid necks out of. In the past i have laminated a few peices of wood together for stability. However, this walnut I have had for 5 years, so it's is seasoned, and will be very stable. In the second picture you can see how i have planed down, and cut the walnut in half. I used my bosses band saw, and planer ro get such nice surfaces on the wood. All edges are 90*, and perfectly flat. The guitars i made previous to this, I would have booked close to 8 hours getting this far. Right now i am at 2 and a half.
